It's Primary Day! Please make sure to drop off your absentee ballot in the drop box for your town (for Suffield, that is in front of 61 Ffyler Place) by 8:00 pm tonight. You can also mail your ballot as long as it is postmarked today (August 11, 2020), per Governor Lamont's executive order yesterday). Some voters are concerned about whether their ballots have been received and will be counted. Here's some good news:
• You can check to see if your absentee ballot has been received by your Town Clerk using the state voter registration lookup tool, using this link: https://portaldir.ct.gov/sots/LookUp.aspx… .
• You can return your completed absentee ballot via the Official Ballot Drop Box at your Town Hall up to 8pm on Tuesday, August 11. Directions for completing the absentee ballot are below.
• Per Gov. Lamont's executive order issued today, if your mailed absentee ballot is postmarked by USPS on or before August 11, it will be counted if received by your Town Clerk on or before August 13.
• If you or someone you know runs into problems voting, you can call the Election Protection hotline, which offers multi-lingual support, at 866-OUR-VOTE. Check out their website at https://866ourvote.org/about/… .
Remember, you still have the choice to vote in person from 6am to 8pm on Tuesday, August 11.
